We offer a few different style trips. Electronics education is available to help you better understand live sonar and how to find fish offshore. Youth educational trips are available as well. We can go on a catching trip, which is basically the easiest for inexperienced anglers or those who are new to the sport. We can strictly go try to catch big ones. This can make for a long day at times but there is certain times of the year it can be very productive, also dependent on the clients abilities to make the correct casts and so on. Any of these options are available and we can mix and mix and match if desired.
We do not offer, give out or sell waypoints. Please respect the amount of time it takes to find these places and keep them to yourselves.
Deposits and payments can be made using Mallard Bay Link on-site. There will be a booking fee if Mallard Bay is utilized but can be avoided via other payment methods. Cash or Venmo is my preferred payment option for deposits and cash is the preferred option for payment after your trips. If you would like to book a trip you can simply call or text me and we can handle the deposits and booking via phone. The options listed above are fine if need be, also. These are just preferences not standards.
Gratuity is a standard practice in the guiding business. If you are satisfied with your guide, a 20% gratuity on your trip price is pretty standard but not required. With rising prices on boats, fuel and costs of living we are all making much less now in this business. It is listed as an add-on option on Mallard Bay as well for credit card users. These are simply standards but not required.
We will provide all tackle needed, if you'd like to bring your own feel free to do so.
We will provide ice and waters in the boat cooler. Lunch or breakfast is not provided.
During the summer months it is recommended to wear sun protection clothing, a sun hat and rub on sunscreen. Winter and springtime can be cold in East Texas so bring clothes accordingly and check the weather beforehand. Windproof gear is recommended.
Please do not spray sunscreen. It makes a mess in a boat and also gets on fishing line which is a major deterrent for fish.
If weather permits, we will generally meet around Umphreys boat ramp in Brookeland, Texas. You will need to purchase a parking permit for the day at the kiosk which looks like an atm. For Toledo Bend trips it will be decided closer to trip date.
We will agree to a meeting time the night before. Your trip time will begin 15 minutes after meeting time and please be prompt. My time is as valuable as yours so just know if your late its cutting into your time on the water.
